Mark has been cutting hair since the late 90s after completing a hairdresser’s apprenticeship in Cairns where he learnt to blend traditional barbering with contemporary hairdressing.

With this unique offering Mark spent 10 years working in some of Sydney and Melbourne’s trendiest barber shops and salons.

In 2005 Mark moved his family to Lismore and opened The Badger’s Bristle on Woodlark Street which was operating for 9 years. In 2015 he moved his business up the road to the Summerland Arcade where he has since become well known as ‘Mark the Barber’.

Mark says what’s kept him barbering all these years is the creative challenge for every haircut, the social aspect of spending time with his clients and the opportunity to continue learning and honing his skills all the time.

Mark has been cutting hair for some of his long-term clients in Lismore for over 15 years. Mark likes to think they keep coming back because his goal is to help every client present their best self and enjoy the experience, as well as the haircut.

When Mark steps out of the barber shop, you’ll find him busy raising two boys, renovating his house, mountain biking and camping.
